Housing
Nick Suduk understands that affordable housing is a basic human right. He will work towards providing affordable housing solutions, such as trying to reduce the time taken for council building approvals. Allowing smaller or tiny homes, medium density where applicable.
Nick hopes to employ more town planners so that they have the time to answer calls from community members. He aims to create a community where everyone has a roof over their head.

Enviroment

Environment
Nick Suduk cares deeply about the environment. Having been on the same farm for over 30 years, has seen the affect of a number of different approaches from traditional agriculture, to innovate technology.
Nick has hosted Landcare and regenerative agriculture workshops on Risdon and practices cultural burning practices under the guidance of Robbie Williams from Fire Lore. He believes that this has been a game changer on Risdon in term of practical pest plant control.
He will work towards creating a sustainable community by promoting environmental awareness, introducing eco-friendly policies.
Water Security

Water Security
Water security is the single most important to Southern Downs. Having lived through the last two droughts, Nick is acutely ​aware of this.
Nick was to explore all avenues to water sourcing to ensure reliable supply to all areas.
Nick believes that it may take different approaches for the different locations and all should be supported if they are going to supply water where it is needed. Nick it in favour of residents having their own water tanks should they want them.
Nick also believes that water that falls in rains on peoples land should never be taxed by government.
Tourism

Tourism
Nick believes that tourism is vital to Southern Downs future. We have four distinct seasons, and offer clear night skys.
Stanthorpe and Granite Belt has some of the most beautiful and unique natural land formations in Queenland. Nick believes that this should be promoted. We already have a number of large events that bring people to the area such as Jumpers and Jazz, the Apple and Grape Festival, Killarney Bonfire, Warwick Rodeo, all our local shows and a mountain of events in between.
Nick believes that all forms of tourism should be encouraged, including Wineries, cottage industry, workshops, agricultural tourism, eco tourism, camping, farm stay, and all traditional tourism should by promoted far beyond our region, to where more people would consider visiting.
Core Services

Core Services
Nick believes that Council needs to look after its core business first. That is roads, Foot paths, Slashing, assets maintenance, People and community first. After these things are in hand, then council can look at ways to improve the lives of its community.
Community

Community
The southern Downs is a special community. It bands together when things get tough, and helps out where ever it can. Nick believes that council should be listening to its people, and helping facilitate more community initiatives by by cutting red tape and making use of facilities cheaper.
